ASTA River Cruise Expo 2027 returns to Vienna.

Following a highly successful event in spring 2025, the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) River Cruise Expo will return to Vienna in 2027.

Ahead of the 2025 Shipping Season: An Optimistic Look at the Future of Danube Cruises

The event kicks off with the ASTA River Cruise Expo, where around 1,500 travel operators will gain insights into the industry at the two event hotspots—the VIECON Center and the Danube Navigation Center Vienna, both companies of Wien Holding.

Shore Power in Sight

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, the construction of shore power infrastructure for cabin ships was officially launched by Wien Energie. Starting in spring 2026, 100 percent green electricity will be supplied via a shore power station at each of the twelve docking points to the ships berthed at the Vienna Danube Navigation Center of Donauraum Wien and at Freudenau Harbor, both companies of Wien Holding.
