ASTA River Cruise Expo 2027 returns to Vienna

ASTA River Cruise Expo 2027 returns to Vienna

Following a highly successful event in spring 2025, the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) River Cruise Expo will return to Vienna in 2027. Once again, Vienna will become the central hub for international B2B tourism exchange along the Danube region. Over the course of the multi-day event, around 1,500 tour operators from North America will have the opportunity to explore cruise lines and their most attractive ships firsthand in Vienna, moored directly at the Reichsbrücke.

The growing demand for river cruise ships naturally requires a corresponding port infrastructure. Vienna provides exactly this with the Danube Shipping Center located around the Reichsbrücke: a passenger port in the heart of the city, equipped with modern infrastructure services and driven by the ambition to offer river cruise guests an unforgettable travel experience in the years to come. This vision is championed by Wiener Donauraum Länden- und Ufer Betriebs- und Entwicklungs GmbH.

The US market has been one of the most important and fastest-growing source markets for Austrian tourism for many years, particularly in the river cruise segment. American visitors especially value Austria’s cultural heritage, historic architecture, and its world-class music and arts offerings. The return of ASTA is the result of close cooperation with Messe Wien, a company of the Wien Holding Group. Together, optimal conditions have been created to successfully host this major industry event in Vienna.

ASTA is one of the leading B2B incoming industry platforms with a focus on the North American market. It brings together tour operators, buyers, and decision-makers from North America with European destinations and tourism service providers. Hosting the event in Vienna further strengthens the city’s position as an internationally recognized tourism and event destination.
